Chad Duell is leaving General Hospital. The actor who portrays Michael Corinthos confirmed some of the details of his exit on Saturday. So far, there is no word on when Duell’s last airdate is Michael will be.

The actor took to Instagram to share the surprising news, leaving fans shocked.
“After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show,” the actor wrote. “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life. I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.
“To all the fans: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and for letting Michael Corinthos be a part of your lives,” Duell continued. “Your love and encouragement has meant the world to me.”
He gave fans who are sad to see him go some hope. “This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later. Much love, Chad.”
Eden McCoy, who portrays his on-screen half-sister, Joss, wrote, “I love you ⭐️”
Fans were surprised by Duell’s unexpected announcement. One wrote, “There’s never been a better Michael. You will be missed! Hope to see you on our screens in some other capacity soon.”
Another chimed in with, “Since Chad is leaving time to bring Bryan Craig back as Morgan Carly needs her son.” (Soap Hub recently wrote about that.)
Duell and his girlfriend girlfriend, Luana Lucci, welcomed a son last fall, Dawson. Lucci chimed in, expressing her support. She wrote, “Little D and I are always by your side, supporting you through every decision ❤️”
Since 2010, Duell has portrayed Michael on GH. A few weeks ago, The Young and the Restless alum Robert Adamson stepped in for Duell in a few episodes. Adamson filmed scenes where Duell found out Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had kissed.
